The eyes were always the most interesting part of a painting for me, not so much for their physical appearance as for the soul, the emotion behind them. Therefore I was very excited for this piece. I love how this composition focuses on the eyes and one of them being blue just makes it even more special. I feel like he almost speaks to me.

About the frame

One of a kind frame is hand made by my husband, David Slay. Each board is hand chosen to complement the artwork. From rough lumber, David hand crafts the molding to produce each frame. This piece is made from Bird’s Eye Maple. We choose this wood for it’s light natural color and beautiful bird’s eye pattern.
