The artwork is hand signed on the front, signed and dated on the back by the artist. Limited edition prints are made of this painting. 

This piece started out as a little sketch but grew into something more. Instead of very correct details I painted with a feel what I had when I looked at the reference photo and knowing the horse it made a difference. He clearly looks bothered at the moment but I couldn’t help myself put his kind soul in that eye. I think this contrast made something special.

About the frame

One of a kind frame is hand made by my husband, David Slay. Each board is hand chosen to complement the artwork. From rough lumber, David hand crafts the molding to produce each frame. This piece is made from Rhodesian teakwood. We choose this wood for it’s beautiful red tone matching to the artwork and unique wood grain.
